OCTOBER 2026

4TH SUNDAY

Musical dynamics help our choir shape the feeling of a song, not just the volume. Terms like piano (p – soft) and mezzo piano (mp – moderately soft) create intimate, reflective moments, while mezzo forte (mf – moderately loud) is our natural, full-band level. forte (f – loud) and fortissimo (ff – very loud) bring energy, confidence, and celebration—often in choruses or climactic sections. You’ll see these symbols in the lyric sections to guide how each part should feel; if no dynamic is marked, sing at the default level of mezzo forte (mf). Unison means two or more voices or instruments producing the same exact pitch.

MASS CHOIR SELECTIONS

LIKE A SHIP

PASTOR T.L. BARRETT

[Verse 1: Pastor T.L. Barrett & Youth for Christ Choir]

(Just like a ship)

Mmm, without a sail (Without a sail)

Just like a ship (Just like a ship)

Mmm, without a sail (Without a sail)

[Chorus: Pastor T.L. Barrett & Youth for Christ Choir]

But I'm not worried because I know (But I know we can take it)

I know (But I know we can take it)

I know we can shake it (But I know we can take it)

I know we can take it (But I know we can take it)

[Verse 2: Pastor T.L. Barrett & Youth for Christ Choir]

I search for pleasure (I search for pleasure)

But I found pain (But I found pain)

I look for sunshine, yes I did (I look for sunshine)

But I found rain (But I found rain)

[Verse 3: Pastor T.L. Barrett & Youth for Christ Choir]

And then I look for my friends (I look for my friends)

They all walked away (But they walked away)

Through all the sorrows (Through all of the sorrows)

You can hear me say (You can hear me say)

[Chorus: Pastor T.L. Barrett & Youth for Christ Choir]

Hey, hey, hey, I know (But I know we can take it)

Just to know one thing, but I know (But I know we can take it)

Sure gonna make it, I know we can shake it (But I know we can take it)

'Cause we are proud people, I know we can take it (But I know we can take it)
